Join us at the 1st annual Bierbörse at Main St. Square October 15th!

The Rushmore German Club is teaming up with Main St. Square and the Ale Riders homebrew club at the 1st annual Bierbörse (Beer Market) located at the newly opened Main St. Square from 1:30 pm until 10pm.

So what's a Bierbörse? Basically, this is a beerfest, and you can't have a fest without some Germans!  So come on down and try over 60 beers, as well as see a demonstration of beer brewing by the Ale Riders. There will be polka from 4-8, and a homebrew judging competition.  There will be FREE sampling of homebrews, as well as a VIP section where you can sample many beers.

If there are any members that want to help out, please contact Andy Marso and he'll fill you in on the details or send us an email at rushmoregermanclub@gmail.com.

There are a limited amount of tickets, which cost $25 prior to the event, and $30 the day of.  Andy can sell you tickets, or you can get them via paypal at the site listed below.

Next meeting: Saturday, September 24

We finally were able to get a place to meet!  However, the meeting will have to happen a little earlier than usual. Because thus is both a general membership meeting and a Sommerfest critique, we anticipate this running a little long.

Please come to the Counts Car Club building located at 5531 Mill Road in Black Hawk at 4pm for a social hour featuring food and beverages supplied by the club. The meeting itself will commence at 5:30pm, to last no longer than 7:30. It's located just west of I-90 Exit 52, beside the Round Up Cafe.

We apologize for this late notice, but it's been difficult finding adequate meeting spaces. If you have any suggestions for where a large group of Germans and German enthusiasts can congregate, please feel free to share!

SOMMERFEST 2011 BEGINS THIS FRIDAY!

Some of the highlights of this year’s event include:

• Expanded hours of operation—tent opens from noon until 1am
• Reduced cover charges, with free admission for anyone dressed in traditional German attire
• Sunday and Monday, August 21st & 22nd -- No cover charge!
• Military appreciation night--free admission with military ID on Thursday August 25th
• Reduced beer prices! We proudly serve August Schell beers, authentic German-style brew made in New Ulm, Minnesota. Look for two new styles this year--Hefewiezen and be among the first in the country to try this year's Oktoberfest offering!

Of course, the tent wouldn't be complete without music. This year we decided to shake things up a bit and introduce some new faces to our music lineup.• Steve Rock Tanzkapelle performs traditional polka on August 19 & 20 from 7pm to midnight
• Chip Bradley &the Midnight Sun Band plays country & western music from 1-4pm Sunday, August 21.
• The Happy Wanderers play polka and waltzes from 7pm to midnight on August 21 and 22
• Longtime fan favorites and German Tent mainstays Rick Borger and the Average German band perform August 23-27 from 7pm to midnight.

...did we mention reduced beer prices???
